Dear Church at Bergen,

As we enter the season of Advent, you are invited to lean into, and reflect on, the coming of Jesus and what His arrival means for us, especially in times and days of trouble. Each day from December 1st through Christmas, this guide seeks to help us uncover aspects of hope rooted in Scripture, exploring how the birth of Christ brings light into even the darkest of circumstances.

In a world that is overwhelmed by bad news, Advent reminds us that in the midst of all our troubles, God’s promises are unwavering. This guide encourages us to look to Jesus, the ultimate source of peace, joy, and strength, and to hold fast to the hope His coming offers us.

Each daily reading includes:

  • A scripture passage that points us to a certain aspect of hope in Christ,
  • A brief thought that connects God’s Word to our world today,
  • A time to reflect on how this personally resonates with you and your life currently, and
  • A prayer that asks God to bring our hearts closer to Him as we walk through this season.

My prayer for you as you engage with these reflections is that you’ll experience a renewed sense of who God is, His love for you, and the unshakable hope we have in Christ. May this season of Advent be a time where you feel, experience, and truly know His peace, strength, and love afresh, guiding you into a deeper relationship with Him.

As we walk through these readings together, may the light of Christ fill your heart and mind, anchoring you in His promises, giving you strength to share this hope with a world that so desperately needs it.

Your brother in Christ,
Dave Levesque
